There’s clean, and then there’s clean. For homes and offices, the first is just fine, but some places need something more. Clean room mats trap every last particle at the door, so surgeries, labs and other sanitary areas can remain sterile. Different options are available, depending on the application: clean room sticky mats are common at the entrance to hospital rooms; rubber foot bath mats are often used outside commercial kitchens.
Clean Room Sticky Mats
Blue sticky mats for clean rooms are designed to attract dirt and dust particles. As feet pass over their sticky surface, the antimicrobial mats grab the dirt and hold it in place on their surface. Once the surface is coated in dust, the top layer can be peeled away and discarded, leaving 29 more fresh sheets of sticky plastic. As well as cleaning the feet of passers-by, sticky mats pull dirt from light wheels including hospital beds and carts.
Boot dip mats
Foot bath mats use water and detergent to thoroughly clean boots as they pass over. Raised yellow edges contain the water while also signalling the foot bath mat’s location. As workers step over the mat, rubber scrapers scrub the dirt from their shoes, sanitising the soles and preventing contamination from spreading between areas. These are commonly used in hospitality where food preparation and customer interaction happen under the same roof.
